Overview and Scrutiny Committee
The Overview and Scrutiny Committee seeks to increase transparency of the decisions made by the Local Enterprise Partnership and to give further assurance by providing an independent committee that can explore and interrogate the rationale for decisions made. The committee will not have the power to delay or refer back the Local Enterprise Partnership's decisions but will be able to publicise its conclusions and make recommendations for improvements to the Local Enterprise Partnership's decision-making processes. The committee’s remit will therefore be very similar to the Public Accounts Committee and it will be able and will make recommendations for improvements to the decision-making process if appropriate.
