The world’s largest site is committed to the development of mass spectrometry systems at Jodrell Bank. And the UK’s largest and best invested bioscience campus & chemical engineering cluster at Alderly Park.

Alderley Park offers 1 million sq ft state-of-the-art biology and chemistry labs that is surpassing the legacy of the AstraZeneca site, which is now situated at Hurdsfield. Cheshire East Council has strong engagement with AstraZeneca to secure ongoing growth at the site. Less than 10 miles away Handforth Garden Village a £200m site is planned to include 1,500 new homes and up to 12 ha of employment land, creating a great opportunity for private sector investment. 

The Science Corridor is also home to Origin, where 1,300 businesses are employing over 24,000 people. It’s fast becoming a global leader in zero carbon energy technology and innovation, the vision is for Ellesmere Port to become the world’s first Net Zero Carbon Industrial cluster, with over £400 million investment to date. And the potential opportunity to increase to 1,463 businesses, employing 35,500 people by 2040.
