
Eleanor Underhill
Former Assistant Director of Operations, National Trust
Eleanor has worked across Cheshire during her career, which involved senior leadership positions in local newspapers, and then with the National Trust. Now recently retired, she continues to operate as a freelance training consultant for the National Trust.

Before taking this position in 2017, Eleanor spent eight years as the General Manager at Quarry Bank near Wilmslow, leading on a transformational £10m Heritage Lottery funded project, which is transforming the experience for visitors to the site.
Prior to this Eleanor spent 30 years in the newspaper industry, initially as an Advertisement Manager at the Yorkshire Post. She then moved to the North West, where she operated in commercial roles, latterly as Managing Director of the Guardian Series of Newspapers, which included the Warrington Guardian and the Mid Cheshire Guardian series.
Eleanor is a governor at Styal Primary School, and a Deputy Lieutenant for Cheshire. She lives in Northwich.
