Cheshire West and Chester Council: A spotlight on Social Value

Cheshire West and Chester Council would like to invite you to the launch of its new Social Value Policy.

This invite is open to local suppliers registered within Cheshire West and Chester. The launch will identify how Cheshire West and Chester Council will embed Social Value across its future procurement activities. It will also highlight how it will influence procurement to build on the contribution that our suppliers already make and benefit local people, communities and organisations though the broad principles of the Council Plan 2020-2024.

This event aims to raise awareness of what social value means to the Council, how it links to our priorities and create a greater understanding of how social value will be embedded within future procurement and contract management activity as an end-to-end process, covering the procurement phase through the life of the contract. It will also highlight the benefits that social value creates for businesses themselves.

There will be an introduction to the Fair Tax Foundation and its accreditation scheme, in November 2021 the Council signed up to the Fair Tax Declaration and is an active promoter and supporter of the scheme.

The event will be delivered by a series of Council Officers, Social Value partner, Social Value Portal and Vinci Construction who are already delivering significant outcomes for the council in their Social Value.
