After starting his career as a Police Officer in the Metropolitan Police Terry then worked overseas in Malaysia and Belize for 2 years for a leading international youth development charity.

In 1997 Terry joined World Challenge and in 2003 he was part of the management team that bought the business in an MBO. The success of the business led to it being acquired by TUI Travel plc in 2008.

In 2009, Terry established Everyday Hero Ltd in Macclesfield, providing fundraising services to the not-for-profit sector.  After a period of sustained growth the business was acquired by Blackbaud Inc. in 2013.

Terry has since run his own consultancy and has been a member of both North Cheshire and Manchester Chambers of Commerce, the Federation for Small Businesses and the Institute of Directors, so he knows the value of membership organisations to SMEs.
