Before joining the University of Chester, Professor Simmons was Deputy Vice Chancellor at Nottingham Trent University (NTU). She led NTU’s Academic and Student Affairs directorate, encompassing the student journey from primary school through university to graduate employment and her teams received numerous national awards for the quality and excellence of their provision. Eunice aims for a leadership style which is collegiate and based on strong, authentic collaborations across the University and beyond.

Her career to date spans five diverse institutions: University of London’s Wye and Imperial Colleges, UCLan, University of Cumbria and Nottingham Trent, in roles that included Course Leader, Head of School, Dean and Pro Vice-Chancellor. This has given Eunice a sound understanding of how strategy and operation interlink in an academic business and how to build capacity for horizon-scanning and innovation across an organisation to the benefit of its wider community.
