He has almost 30 years of experience in regeneration and public/private sector partnerships.

He began his career in the mining industry in 1976 at Parkside Colliery where he progressed to becoming a qualified mining surveyor in 1980.

His background in property goes back to his role at British Coal Property where he headed up the development team charged with redeveloping closing collieries during the 1990s.

On leaving the coal industry he also held senior regeneration positions with English Partnerships in Liverpool and Amec Developments in Manchester.

He joined Langtree in 1997 becoming Managing Director in 2001, where he led the business through a period of exceptional growth.

He also holds Board Member roles at Warrington & Co, Sci-Tech Daresbury Enterprise Zone, Atlantic Gateway and St Helens Chamber of Commerce.
