Summary:
Terrance is an ambitious young man who had been working in care prior to the Skills Bootcamp in Health and Social Care with Embedded Digital Challenge.
Terrance had worked in care but could not progress in his role because he had no formal qualifications. His employers had recognised his enthusiasm and had given him responsibilities in administration creating
care plans and risk assessments – but his main passion was in helping others.
Terrance joined the course, and his tutors were extremely impressed with his commitment to learning as he raced ahead with the Care Certificate and Level 3 Units

The Solution
Xyrius take a comprehensive approach to their courses offering embedded digital skills with health courses because routine tasks now require digital ability, while many careers have little or poor digital
skills.
The specialist Level 3 units in Autism, Dementia, End of Life and Dedication allow participants to gain a rounded view of care in the community and earn points towards Access courses for further study.
Participants leave with NCFE Certification which allow future employers to have confidence in their abilities and commitment.
The Result
The course has been developed along with local employers so that participants have the best change of obtaining sustainable employment.
As a result of successfully completing the course and his own skill sets Terrance has been offered and accepted a full-time position at Belong Warrington, a Community Care Village which consists of 18
apartments and 72 suites.
Terrance’s plans for the future are to do a Level 5 in Health and Social Care.
I wanted to do this health and social care course because this will help me gain the knowledge and skills required to progress in my career. This will help open doors for me so I can take the next steps in my future career. I have really enjoyed doing this course and gaining more skills, qualities, and knowledge I need to help me gain a better understanding of my job role and career path. The highlights for me have been meeting new people and learning through assignments.
