How the funding has supported learners and Encyclis
The Skills Bootcamp funding has provided significant support to both our learners and Encyclis during the mobilisation phase of our Energy Recovery Facility.
After visiting and assessing three different training providers, we selected SB Skills due to their wider range of training options and their ability to accommodate our operational requirements. As all training needed to be delivered off-site, it was essential that the provider could cater for larger items of mobile plant equipment, including loading shovels. SB Skills were able to meet all these requirements while also offering flexibility around training dates, enabling us to train multiple teams efficiently and minimise disruption to the business.

• Counterbalance Forklift Licence
• Wheeled Front End Loader

What difference has this made to individuals' progression and Encyclis

These qualifications have enhanced their personal development while providing transferable skills that will benefit them throughout their careers.
From a business perspective, the programme focused on our Day Operations Team, who use mobile plant daily, ensuring the required competencies were in place before the facility becomes operational. The programme has also enabled us to upskill employees across multiple teams, creating a more flexible and resilient workforce capable of supporting operational demands across the site.
The flexibility shown by SB Skills allowed us to schedule training around our commissioning programme, ensuring all operational teams received consistent, high-quality training without impacting critical project activities.
In addition to the direct savings achieved through the funded programme, SB Skills have supported the delivery of training for all 40 team members across a range of other mandatory and operational training requirements. This has helped ensure consistent standards and competency while allowing the business to maximise the value of its overall training budget during the plant start-up phase.

The feedback received from all employees who attended the training has been positive. Learners have consistently praised the quality of the training, along with the professionalism, knowledge and approachability of all the trainers.
SB Skills have been flexible and responsive throughout the programme, accommodating our operational requirements and training schedules while maintaining a high standard of delivery. Their broad range of accredited courses, together with their capability to support training on larger plant equipment, made them the standout choice from the three providers we assessed.
