Rowdah Charbak - Digital Marketing Level 4 - Case Study
I thought the training was brilliant!
What were you doing before you started the programme?
Before starting the programme, I had recently completed my master’s degree in Architecture and was looking to upskill myself while searching for the right full-time job. I wanted to make the most of my time and continue developing my professional skills before stepping properly into the world of work.
How did you find out about the training?
A family member recommended the course to me, as they knew I had skills that were transferable into marketing and a bit of previous experience creating marketing content. When I found out about the opportunity, I was excited about the prospect of broadening my skills and opening up more opportunities, both in my industry and beyond.
Why did you decide to join?
I decided to join because I wanted to stay productive and keep learning while I looked for the right full-time role. I saw this as a chance to build up my skill set, improve my employability, and explore new areas like marketing that could complement my design and creative background.
What did you think of the training? How did it help you?
I thought the training was brilliant. It covered a wide range of topics and gave me a much deeper understanding of the fundamentals of digital marketing, from customer journeys to promotional planning. At times, I found it challenging to balance everything alongside part-time work, but the support from Lee was incredible and made a real difference. It’s been rewarding learning a completely new skill set that I can now apply across different industries.
Were there any barriers or obstacles you had to overcome?
One of the main obstacles was balancing my learning with my other work commitments. It was sometimes difficult to keep up, but Lee was so flexible and supportive throughout, which really helped. I feel much more confident and excited about the different paths my career could now take.
What are you doing now?
Since completing the course, I have received freelance opportunities in marketing content creation and am in the process of marketing a small business alongside working part-time in architecture. The skills I gained have really expanded the type of work I’m able to take on.
What impact has the training had on your life?
This training has been beneficial for me. Before, I felt a little stuck and uncertain about my next steps outside of architecture, knowing that I always wanted to undertake a ‘side hustle’ that could make the most of my multi-disciplinary approach to design and industry. Now, I feel much more skilled, adaptable, and business-minded. It’s opened doors that I didn’t even know were there and has given me practical tools that I can use in both freelance work and traditional employment.
What are your plans for the future?
My plan is to continue building up my freelance portfolio, market businesses effectively, and develop my architecture and creative career with a strong understanding of branding and marketing. I’m excited about the opportunities ahead and feel more ambitious and prepared for the future thanks to the course.
