North West Net Zero Hub to launch the ‘North West Route to Net Zero’ website

15/05/2023

Website to be launched on the 25th of May

  • Website to be launched on the 25th of May.
  • 69 case studies available to all audiences.
  • 9 videos released as part of the work commissioned by the Hub during COP26.
  • Call to action for any organisation, business, charity, community group etc., which have a particular ‘carbon story’ which they would like to share with a wider audience.
  • Website to be the home of successful projects demonstrating the potential success of decarbonising and living more sustainability.

The North West Net Zero Hub has gathered 69 case studies from across the Cheshire &, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside and Warrington areas.

The North West Route to Net Zero website will include inspiring examples of just some of the projects underway to help make our region greener, from community-led initiatives to major infrastructure unlocking substantial investment.

The website will be continually updated with further case studies uploaded on a regular basis with the aim of creating a central digital home for inspiring green stories from across the region.

Head of Regional Programme at the North West Net Zero Hub, James Johnson, said:

“The launch of our North West Route to Net Zero website is an important day for the Hub as we aim to share some of the examples of best practice within decarbonisation and sustainability from across the region.

We believe that the 69 case studies and 9 videos will give a good flavour of the work being done across key areas for net-zero such as the circular economy, energy, transport and much more.

Supported by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the NWNZ Hub will regularly update the website to include case studies which reflect new challenges and solutions in the face of an ever-changing environmental landscape as we race to becoming zero carbon by 2050.”
