Nantwich Food Festival Returns

The Nantwich Food Festival operates as a not-for-profit endeavour, organised and run by a dedicated team of volunteers, for the sole benefit of the town. It will be open again this year, September 2nd to 4th.

Delighting locals and visitors alike since 2001, the Festival remains free to enter, including all music stages, children’s and street entertainment, food stalls and marquees and three days of demonstrations by celebrity and local chefs.

How is this possible?

The secret comes from two sources; all of the exhibitors pay to exhibit their products, and the Festival is blessed with generous sponsors, without whom the Festival would not take place.

Christine Farrall, Festival Chairwoman states “We have been very fortunate to have the support and backing from local businesses over the years.

We are indebted to them all, and particularly Nantwich Town Council, the prime supporter of the Festival. Nantwich Town Mayor, Councillor Stuart Bostock tells me how pleased the Town Council is to see Nantwich Food Festival back in operation again, and to be able to support it”

“New to the Festival for 2022 is local business, and large local employer, Boughey, who will sponsor the market-styled town centre area, which replaces the marquee that had been there in recent years. Boughey first approached the Festival organisers before the first Covid lockdown, so it is very pleasing to see that their enthusiasm for supporting the Festival has continued; we are delighted to welcome them as one of our Gold Sponsors.”

Regular festival-goers will be pleased to hear that major local business, Mornflake will sponsor the Festival for the 12th year, selling their multi award-winning range of Cheshire milled oats, muesli and granola from the Mornflake Pavilion on the Bowling Green area. Their continued support as a Gold Sponsor is much appreciated by the Festival organisers.

Festival Sponsorship Manager, Stuart Cordingley explains “The Festival organisers are most appreciative of the long term and ongoing support from renowned food businesses such as Mornflake, however, sponsors do not need to be food companies.

We are therefore pleased to announce that Nantwich businesses Applewood Independent Financial Advisors, and Hall Smith Whittingham Solicitors are, for the third year joint Gold Sponsors of the marquee at Love Lane. Both businesses will have stalls within their marquee, enabling them to welcome visitors, in addition to current and potential clients. Applewood take the mystery out of financial planning, and are truly independent financial advisers. Hall Smith Whittingham is a progressive law firm that offers a wide variety of legal services.”

Following discussions with Cheshire East Council and the Public Health Department, both of the above marquees will be more open than usual to aid air circulation as part of the Festival Covid safety measures. In addition there will be a greater number of hand washing and hand sanitising areas throughout the Festival.

Continuing the theme of non-food sponsors, Stuart reports his pleasure in welcoming new Silver Sponsors, Whitegates Estate and Letting Agents, who will sponsor the very busy Children’s Marquee, an area that is always popular with children and parents alike. Whitegates will have a stall in this area to enable them to deal with sales and letting queries.

Completing the list of current major sponsors, the Festival is delighted to again welcome award winning local ice cream specialists, Snugburys, who, as a Silver Sponsor, will sponsor the Music Stage in Love Lane.

Detailed plans for all the above areas will be publicised over the course of the next few months.

Chairwoman Chris Farrall goes on to say “In addition to support over the Festival weekend, we are delighted to reveal that Applewood Independent Financial Advisors have also kindly agreed to sponsor the Nantwich Food Awards, for the third year; we are most grateful for their extended support. The organising team sincerely thanks all of the above Gold and Silver Sponsors for their backing.”
