Help shape Warrington's strategy

14/02/2025

The public survey will close on Friday 21 February.

This spring, the council will be agreeing its new four-year corporate strategy for 2025-2029.

The corporate strategy acts as the council’s guiding document, setting out its commitments and priorities. As part of agreeing its strategy, the council is asking residents, businesses and communities to share their thoughts about the council’s main strategic aims and priorities.

The new strategy will have three core focus areas: our people, our place and our public services.

The council’s draft strategy centres on a number of key themes, including:

  • Supporting people with the cost-of-living crisis and addressing inequalities
  • Protecting Warrington’s most vulnerable residents and championing communities
  • Caring for children and enhancing SEND services
  • Improving our environment and tackling climate change
  • Building quality homes and critical infrastructure
  • Upgrading roads and boosting public transport
  • Supporting our local economy and investing in our town
  • Continuously improving as a council and strengthening governance

As part of finalising the strategy, the council is seeking people’s views to make sure that its aims and priorities reflect what people want, need and expect.

Cabinet member for Organisation, Innovation and Co-operation, Cllr Nathan Sudworth, said: “The council is changing the way it works, and we want you to be a part of it. We want our strategy to focus focused on what really matters: people, place and public service.

“This means reducing inequalities and supporting families. It’s also about creating a better connected, more vibrant town. And, critically, it means developing public services that are accessible, transparent and built around your needs.

“Importantly, we want our strategy to be something we keep revisiting with those who live, work and do business here. We’ll keep asking you to offer your ideas and suggestions as our plan evolves and develops over time. We want our strategy to truly shape Warrington for the next four years, and your voice is essential. Whatever matters most to you, now is the time to let us know and get involved.”
