Chester welcomes two business investment events this month
Chester is back in the business spotlight this month
Chester is back in the business spotlight this month with two high profile industry events at Chester Racecourse and the Crowne Plaza hotel.
Councillor Nathan Pardoe, Cabinet Member for Inclusive Economy, Regeneration and Digital Transformation said: “Following last month’s business event at Chester Racecourse where we launched our Property Review, and a return visit to the industry flagship investment event UKREiiF in Leeds, I’m delighted to welcome business leaders back to Cheshire West for two more high profile events.
“Cheshire West communities have an exciting story to tell and events like this allow us to not only talk about the wide range of excellent investment opportunities we have but to show them in person.”
Cheshire & North Wales Development Update 2025
Thursday 5 June, Chester Racecourse
Cheshire West and Chester Council is one of the sponsors for The Place North West event at Chester Racecourse. Part of a series of sub-regional briefings giving a chance to understand the local market and mix with the movers and shakers who are shaping the latest major projects.
Councillor Karen Shore, Deputy Leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council and member of Cheshire and Warrington Joint Committee will join fellow Leaders on a panel discussion about the future of a devolved Cheshire & Warrington.
Gemma Davies, the Council’s Director of Economy & Housing will be talking about regeneration opportunities, giving an overview of the borough, and its economy. Gemma will also join a panel discussion about the state of the Cheshire market.
The event will showcase Invest Chester and the recently launched website: www.investchester.uk, plus the investment opportunities within Origin, Ellesmere Port in addition to Northwich, Winsford, Middlewich and the surrounding rural areas that feature in the new Mid Cheshire Plan.
Councillor Karen Shore said: “A Cheshire and Warrington devolution agreement puts us at the front of the queue for significant additional funding to benefit everyone living and working in the area and we want to seize this opportunity.
“Devolution would allow us to make more decisions here in Cheshire and Warrington, rather than decisions about our region and its almost 1 million residents being made in Whitehall.”
Hynet Supply Summit - A Region of Makers & Innovators
Thursday 12 June, Crowne Plaza.
HyNet is transforming the North West and North Wales region into one of the world’s leading low-carbon industrial clusters. By enabling production of low carbon, everyday essentials from cement to power, HyNet is helping to create and protect thousands of jobs across the region.
Delivered in collaboration with NOF, the event is supported by Origin, Ellesmere Port and Liverpool City Region.
NOF is a business development organisation helping to make valuable connections between businesses in the global energy sector.
The event will include presentations from clients and their engineering, procurement and construction partners, spotlighting current and upcoming opportunities, helping suppliers understand how they can get involved and add value.
The Council will focus on the promotion of Origin and the green investment opportunities in the area, home to one to one of the UK’s largest industrial clusters. www.origininvestmentprospectus.co.uk
Sponsorship for both events is from government funded UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Supporting Local Business (SLB) monies to promote the investment offer across the Borough.
