Chester Duck Race

The Duck Race will be taking place on Saturday 20^th April.

Ducks are available to sponsor for £275 each and we have a variety of colours available - yellow, green, black, red or pink.

You can personalise the duck with a logo or a design of your choice. We are asking this year for no glitter to be used on the decorated ducks. After the race you are more than welcome to take away your duck to love forever.  

If you would like to adopt a duck you can expect: 

• Local press coverage 
• Regular social media posts 
• Your duck will be on display in a prominent city centre shop 
• Your duck will feature our Facebook Favourite album on The Countess Charity page with over 9,500 followers 
• Your duck could win a trophy for Fastest Duck, Best Celebrity Lookalike, Facebook Favourite & Best Dressed

We anticipate that donations from this event will go to our new Retinal Eye Scanner Appeal which is due to launch imminently. This is a brand new appeal for 2024 to fund a piece of equipment above and beyond Government funding. The appeal will raise funds for a state of the art retinal imaging machine for the Westminster Eye Clinic at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The detailed views provided by this new piece of equipment will provide many benefits including being quick and easy to perform, improving clinic flow and potentially earlier identification and treatment of certain eye conditions. A great appeal to launch our 2024 Duck Race!

Ducks can be dropped to you if requested or we will be having a launch event here at the Countess from 4pm on Thursday 14^th March. We ask for decorated ducks to be returned to us at an event planned to take place at Hickory's on Thursday 11^th April from 4pm.
