Cheshire West and Chester Students Celebrate Exam Success

15/08/2025

Over 2200 sat examinations

Students across borough are celebrating a range of A-level and other exam success today, Thursday 14 August 2025. Over 2200 students in 16 schools and colleges across Cheshire West and Chester sat examinations.

Provisional A-Level data shows that the overall pass rate of students in the borough is in line with the national average, while the percentage of students achieving the highest grades in Cheshire West and Chester is above the figures seen nationally.

Students across the borough also had success in other qualifications including BTech, International Baccalaureate and Tech Levels.

These fantastic outcomes have been secured as a result of a great deal of hard work and dedication to their studies. The results will allow students to progress to the next stage in their education, employment or training.

Cheshire West and Chester Council would like to thank all schools and colleges for their commitment to securing the best possible outcomes for their students throughout the courses and during the exam season.  It acknowledges the crucial, ongoing, supportive role of parents and carers, who will all be equally proud and will celebrate today's achievements.

Councillor Adam Langan, Cabinet Member for Children and Families, said: “I have been delighted to hear of the wonderful successes achieved by students today.  Their commitment and hard work have been acknowledged through these results, and I wish them continued success as they look to achieve their aspirations and goals for their future, whatever their chosen career path.”

However, this may not be a time of celebration for everyone. Schools and colleges are there to offer support and guidance for those students whose results may not be all they had hoped for. School staff can provide guidance on the clearing system to source alternative courses at universities and colleges, routes to employment, other qualifications and educational opportunities.

Congratulations to all young people who have completed this very challenging stage of their education.
