Champs Public Health Collaborative-Winter Announcement

17/10/2022

64% of businesses felt staff are more health conscious

As we move into the winter season, we understand that the general public and local business owners will start to think about how different these periods have looked over the past two years.

A recent survey found that as many as 64% of businesses across the Cheshire and Merseyside area felt their staff have become more health conscious over the last few years and 3/4 of employers would be interested in a public health campaign with messages tailored for people and businesses in our area.

Based on these findings, Champs Public Health Collaborative - along with the support of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside and the UK Health Security Agency - is launching a brand new campaign with two different sets of messages to target the general Cheshire and Merseyside public, as well as its local businesses and their employees.

For the public, this centres on the simple things that still mean a lot to us - such as spending time with family and friends, and enjoying days out and weekends away - along with some simple actions that we all must remember to do.

While for local businesses and employees, it focuses on the importance of the simple things that help to prevent the spread of seasonal illnesses in the workplace - such as influenza, norovirus and COVID-19.

These include remembering to wash our hands, sanitise surfaces, cover our mouths when we cough or sneeze and circulate air around the office and other communal workplace areas.

There are some printed materials to support the campaign and messaging that employers can use with their teams and customers, and it would be greatly appreciated if you could send them out to your Enterprise partners for them to use.
