A-Level success for Warrington
Good news for Warrington students.
The publication of the 2025 A-level results has brought good news for Warrington students.
Four colleges in Warrington supported pupils with A-Levels, and initial results show that Warrington students have performed well.
This is the first cohort to have sat exams through the full exam cycle since the Covid Pandemic. The results for Warrington are positive and provide an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of young people who have overcome challenges and shown resilience in the face of significant disruption to their earlier education.
The data for Warrington (which is preliminary and could be subject to change), shows that:
- The percentage of A-level entries achieving A*- A grades is 22.6%, in line with data from 2024
- The percentage of A level entries achieving A*- B grades is 51.1 % up 2.9%
- The percentage of A-level entries achieving A* - C grades is 77.9% an increase of 4%. This figure is now higher than the England average.
- The overall pass rate (% achieving A* - E grades) is higher than 2024 – 99.2% (increase of 1.3%) and remains higher than the England average.
Cllr Matt Smith, Cabinet Member, Children’s, Families and Education, said: “I’d like to congratulate all our students for their fantastic achievements in their A-Levels this year. It’s the result of two years of hard work and dedication.
“It’s also important to thank staff in our schools and colleges who have worked so hard to make sure our students are well prepared for the exams and have supported and challenged them at every step to help them reach their full potential.
“We wish all of this year’s cohort the very best of luck in achieving their future career aspirations.”
