Northern Powerhouse Energy Trade Mission: Norway

The Department for International Trade (DIT) in the UK and Norway are delighted to invite businesses from across the Northern Powerhouse to express their interest in a virtual trade mission to explore their opportunities in the Norwegian energy sector. The virtual mission programme is a precursor to a physical mission, which is due to take place mid-summer.

About the Norwegian market:
The Norwegian energy sector is going through change, which is opening opportunities as it embraces other sources of energy as well as energy usage, storage, and distribution. Norway had been synonymous with having significant hydropower capacity however, as demand is increasing, and the need for energy transition gains momentum. Norway is now looking to offshore wind and hydrogen, in addition to energy storage with a focus upon transport, port infrastructure, data centres, battery production and more.

What’s included?
The programme will include a series of virtual roundtable events with a select group of Norwegian companies, operating in the following sectors:
• Energy Storage
• Hydrogen
• Offshore Wind
• Transportation Electrification
The virtual programme is a great opportunity to connect and establish relationships with in-market representatives, which will form a strong foundation for the physical trade mission later in the year.

Eligibility:
Companies must be based in the Northern Powerhouse region.
