Finance and Performance Committee
In May 2023 the LEP Board made the decision to merge the Finance & Audit Committee with the Performance & Investment Committee, to ensure robust governance and assurance processes remained functional.
The Finance and Performance Committee acts on behalf of the Local Enterprise Partnership Board and monitors the financial performance and compliance of the Local Enterprise Partnership. The committee reviews financial reporting, trading performance, internal controls and risk management systems, compliance and whistle blowing and fraud. The committee also monitors and reviews the effectiveness of the company’s internal audit function in the context of its overall risk management system.
The committee also monitors the external audit process and meets the external auditor at least once a year, without the executive being present, to discuss the auditor’s remit and any issues arising from the audit. The committee also reviews and approves the annual audit to ensure it is consistent with the scope of the audit engagement and reviews the findings of the audit with the external auditor and the management’s response to the auditor’s findings and recommendations.
